Morning Session:
Tea or Coffee upon arrival
Your day will start at 9:30am with an introduction into the sport and a brief description of safety and techniques which you will learn throughout your experience. With the safety briefing out of the way it's straight out onto the training stage!!!
Stage 1:
Your morning will consist of hands on training with your instructor teaching you the basic technique. Stepping it up a level on each run and your confidence building very quickly your instructor will be advising you as to the correct approach into corner's, correct braking procedures and the most important ingredients which are surface awareness and throttle control.
Power sliding a car and keeping it within your control is a fine art but once mastered gives a great sense of achievement, this will be achieved. However, it's almost guaranteed you'll have one or two spins along the way!!! As the morning goes on and you become more familiar with the basic techniques we'll introduce the handbrake turn!. This technique is used on very tight corners referred to by co-drivers as hairpins, as your day progresses you will encounter one or two of these on our demanding tarmac stage.
Lunch Around 12:30pm:
DVD and a short talk on rallying in general covering aspects such as car preparation, how to enter rallies and the different types of rallies.
Stage 2:
So having built up your confidence and abilities on the morning stage it's now time to start linking some of the techniques together. Into the corner, off the power, turn in, little kick on the power to start the slide and keep the car sliding through the corner and then hang on because here comes one of those hairpins!!! Well, this is what Rallying is all about and the unpredictability of what's around the corner is what gives the most ultimate buzz.
You'll now be driving a totally different stage, tight hairpin bends have now been added to the stage and your instructor will be pushing you to the best of your abilities encouraging you to use the handbrake turn. Sliding the car from one corner to the next you'll really get to feel the adrenaline pumping and with the competetive foundations now in place we'll introduce a special test where you will be assessed on new found skills. Penalty points will be awarded for hit markers and spins etc. Each driver will now drive our Subaru 4WD Rally Car. This car produces 280 BHP and is awesomely quick. Used by our instructors regularly on rallies, this car is the real thing. Feel the acceleration as the power pushes you firmly into the seat, your throat goes dry and your knuckles go white!!!
Your day comes to an exhilerating end as each participant will experience a high speed passenger ride at competition speed, see how this 280 BHP machine performs with an expert at the wheel. Finally a trophy presentation for the best performer of the special test, a group photograph and a certificate for all participants.
