Our skid control course has been tried and enjoyed by advanced driving associations and road safety organisations locally and nationally. A skid pan can be oily, dirty and messy. SKID CAR is clean to drive and kind to the environment. WHAT WILL I BE DRIVING?
State-of-the-art SKID CAR using computerised technology to produce real skids in complete safety. You drive an ordinary saloon car especially equipped with a hydraulic cradle to simulate all types of road conditions. The road surface is unaltered by chemicals or powders leaving you clean and dry, and to ensure the courses are not cancelled due to rain. You will drive a family-sized saloon car, currently a Ford Mondeo 2 litre.

Fully-trained & certificated SKID CAR instructors who understand how to get the best from your driving. With the instructor alongside you at all times you can drive with confidence as you learn new skills. Your course will be tailored to your personal learning, and your instructors make sure you enjoy yourself too.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Your course is a SKID CAR national Level 2 course covering:
- Adopting correct attitude when driving in adverse weather
- How to recognise & prevent understeer & oversteer
- Why greater braking distances are needed in bad weather
- Theory & practice of skid control/skid prevention
- How to prevent and control front and rear wheel skids
- How to brake and swerve on a slippery surface
- How to use ABS safely and effectively
- All drivers receive a SKID CAR certificate as a memento of their day
Theory is mixed with practical and you drive in all road conditions from "dry" to "ice and snow" without leaving the safety of the training centre! The course is great fun, and you leave with sufficient experience to make you confident on slippery roads.
