This introductory course is the foundation of car control, you need to be able to understand and control understeer and oversteer before being able to move on to more advanced car control skills and situations you may have to deal with.
The main part of this course is teaching you to recognise and control understeer and oversteer (front and rear wheel skids), not just in slippery conditions but also to teach at higher speeds in grippy conditions to show how a car can skid. At the start prior to instruction the skid car will be set to simulate a powerful rear wheel drive car and you will negotiate a demanding course with the clock ticking to see how you cope!
After the serious instruction including pointing out where these skills can be used in real life, you will be timed again at the same setting as earlier to see how much you have learnt, - your improvement will be noticeable and quite often staggering, sometimes twice as quick! A fun way to get to grips with the basics of car control.
How long does this activity last:
Approximately 2.5 hours including brief, debrief and driving time. The course ends with the presentation of a certificate for all participants. 1 hour 45 minutes spent in the vehicle
